The United States Department of State on Wednesday defended its travel warning for India [ Images ], arguing that there is a propensity for terrorism during the Diwali [ Images ] season, and that this is a concern that New Delhi [ Images ] itself had acknowledged going from past experience.
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu electorate literally replicated their democratic enthusiasm shown in the April 13 Assembly elections during the two phases of elections to the local bodies that concluded on Wednesday. Chennai was the only exception, recording the lowest poll percentage (52 per cent).
